As somewhere I have read, “Roads have all the answers”. And as an individual, In all this negativity spread around us, I need to find some positive answers for myself.
Going on a road trip with your friends is almost everyone’s dream. And I found myself lucky enough to live that dream.
We decided to go to Manali. It was the last
week of December and we were very certain that we will be getting a huge crowd.
Therefore, we decided to visit a less explored
place in Manali i.e., Old Manali. As it was New Year's eve, we want to do prior
bookings before reaching there. We book a hotel for three days.
We started our journey at Night from Delhi and
by morning we enter Manali. We are having our car, which makes us less tired on
the journey.
And somewhere you all know, when you reach the
destination, all journey tiredness is gone. The same happens with us when we
start to see the snow-covered mountains, beautiful valleys. And mountains have
a different ambiance especially in Manali and you feel that once you reach
there.
But as we reached early in the morning, we have
to spend 5 hours before we get our rooms.
When you see those scenes, you feel like you
belong here and you can live your entire life in these mountains.
The same thing happened with us and we spent
our five hours like we spent only one hour.
We done all the things that were part of our
itinerary and still had one last night left in Manali for this trip and we decided
to go to a café.
We visited the café, it has around 15-20 people
(due to covid). In our single view, we could see a group of girls, a family,
and a couple. We decided to sit in the backside so that nobody feels awkward as
we have plans to consume alcohol.
A live band was performing there and was singing some of the best songs of friendship.
We were having our food and alcohol and
suddenly, a girl from the group starts to dance and sooner all the girls start
dancing.
It was 10 pm and it was the time to close the café
but to our luck, the café manager allows all of us to sit and enjoy the
evening.
The girls were waving hands and asking everyone
sitting in the café to join them on the dance floor.
In the span of 2-3 minutes, all the people are
on the floor and dancing except four of us.
One girl from the group come to us and push us
like she is our friend or knowing us for a long time.
As we have consumed alcohol, we four were
dancing separately to avoid any inconvenience to anyone on the floor.
Then an uncle from the family came to us and
said those words which mark an impact on my mind.
“It’s only one life, live it happily and cheerfully,
things like covid will come and go, but need not lose positivity inside you. Now
come and dance with us and never feel shy to dance.”
We all started to dance in a group like a
family.
It was 11:10 pm and the manager asks us to go
to our places as it's too late now.
We all are feeling like this is not the right
ending to this night and suddenly from nowhere uncle threw his mask in the air
and after that, each one of us threw our masks in the air too.
It feels like a graduation ceremony where students
threw their hats in the air.
In my heart, I was feeling that we defeat
corona.
We all strangers are taking pictures in groups
without knowing each other and at that moment I realized, it is a true family i.e.,
HUMANITY.
It seems to be like a perfect ending to the
night and it fulfilled the motto of the trip, to find positivity for ourselves.
We went back to our hotel and leave for Delhi
in the morning.
PS: After throwing masks in the air, we all
collected our masks and sanitize them for reuse.
